Megastar Live band heats up VIP
Local West Coast musicians unite to celebrate the second annual Vancouver Island Pride at Mount Washington Alpine Resort running the weekend of February 28th + 29th, 2020.
Megastar is a band with many formats that are as exciting and dynamic as its members.
The band is composed of professional musicians based on Canada’s West Coast. This will be the second year Megastar will be doing a very special Pride edition at Mount Washington's Ted's Bar and Grill.
Kicking off the VIP weekend on Friday, February 28th from 4PM - 6:30PM is Lance Lapointe for a rock'n classic après ski. Later that night Lance is joined with the rest of the Megastar band and the unstoppable Conni Smudge for the VIP Talent + Karaoke Show where audience members become the stars. Last year we had some amazing talent grace the stage and can hardly wait to see who shows up this year and wow us.
On Saturday, February 29th the Megastar band reunites as we all take a giant leap into 2020 and heat up the alpine resort with a very high energy pride dance party. You can expect a lot of the gay anthems with happy uplifting dance music to keep us going. DJ Christuffa will spin between the sets to ensure the high energy continues throughout the night.
On lead vocals is Jools Roberts who is an incredible singer and personality. She’s a seasoned veteran of the UK touring scene as well as the Vancouver and Lower Mainland club circuit. Her credits include Megalicious, Best Day Ever and as the host and guide vocalist of Megastar Live Karaoke. She’s been with Megastar since the spring of 2019.
Guitars and vocals are provided by west coast music sensation Lance Lapointe. He’s toured the world with recording acts and has been a member of Megastar for three years. He and Dave have played together for almost two decades. Lance is a very accomplished singer/songwriter and is a favourite on Spotify as well as in-person in major venues on Canada’s west coast.
Dave Hampshire is the band founder and has toured Europe and Canada with a variety of acts. His role in the band is drums and vocals and don’t be surprised to see him come out from behind the kit to kill a duet with Jools. He’s a member of Megalicious, Haus Banned, Best Day Ever and Megastar Live Karaoke as well as Vancouver-based Rebels & Heroes.
Darcy Friesen is the band technologist and web guru and holds down the big strings on bass. His credits include Megalicious, Best Day Ever and Vancouver-based Rebels & Heroes.
